My involvement in the Kolyang Hub was an invigorating and transformative 3 years. It consolidated my network and emerging leadership as a mid-career artist in WA’s arts sector. It was a platform through which I could develop and share my advocacy, facilitation skills and commitment to accessibility. I lead events such as FLOCK: Artist Run Initiatives in 2021 and Conversation Choreographies/Open Space in 2022.
During Kolyang I also developed a number of my own projects, led a study of WA independent artists’ careers through Chamber of Arts and Culture WA and assisted a detailed analysis of the Hub's impact with Tracker.
"Kolyang Hub ran from 2020-22 led by Performing Lines WA. The model includes a stipend payment for core participating artists to work freely on new ideas without pressure of outcome, and to allow collaborations and professional connections to naturally grow. Panels, workshops and events are open to the wider artistic community - all aimed at increasing dialogue around creative practice and finding solutions to key issues in the sector. The Hub has positioned PLWA not only as inspired producer of interdisciplinary and devised performance but as a leader in WA arts sector development. Through the Hub, PLWA came to demonstrate the qualities of a peak body such as advocacy for independent artists, leading important conversation across discipline/organisations and generating rigorous dialogue about best practice."

Led by Rachael Whitworth, Zainab Syed, Jen Leys and Cecile Lucas in 2020, in consultation with 40 artists (all those in Performing Lines WA’s 2020 projects that were disrupted due to Covid).
In 2021 Kolyang grew to host more than 80 mid-career artists, spanning all disciplines and including a lab for emerging artists from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
In 2022 Kolyang Hub had more than 35 mid-career performing artists, including a lab of artists with diverse abilities led by Jeremy Smith and Caroline Bowditch.
Daisy Sanders was a participating Hub artist for all 3 years and a member of the 2022 Artist Advisory.
