pvi collective are 'a tactical media art group who create agitational participatory artworks intent on the creative disruption of everyday life'.
their passion for experimentation and ethical arts practice aligns with my playful multidisciplinary approach and values in arts advocacy, social impact and activism.
in 2016 i was awarded a pvi collective ‘sweet seat’ residency which i completed in the storage area under the stairs at 24 brisbane st.
from 2017 onwards i worked with pvi intermittently. this included sector development exchange through FLOCK and culminated in becoming pvi collective’s 2024 company artist.
the events pictured are:
- 2017 kiss club, daisy sanders / dominik mall
- 2018 kiss club, steamworks arts (see VOSS (The Explorers))
- 2019 democracy flashmob as part of tiny revolutions
- 2024 kiss club, in partnership with propel youth arts
- 2024 social licence watchdogs, in partnership with agwa
- 2024 work-in-development / studio photos
it was invigorating to expand my artistry into public intervention, big world thinking, deep research and tough conversations. regular employment and collegiate support from kelli mclcuskey, steve bull, kate neylon and team came at a crucial moment in my artistic trajectory, ensuring i could continue to practice and maintain a sense of belonging / belief in the role of artists during turbulent personal and political times.
i applaud pvi collective above all for leading with indefatigable positive spirit and their commitment to exploratory creative process and art that calls for change.
