to think // dance // write // feel // with the sound of weather

About

w e a t h e r v e i n combines my practice - dancing with the body’s changing pressure systems of rest and energy - together with Jo Pollitt’s practice of writing as dancing, and Tess Crow / CR0NES' practice of poetic vocal and sound loops woven amongst deeply felt electronic tones.

This 3-way multidisciplinary exchange is a live investigation of simultaneous ‘weathers’ in which dance, text and sound build, fade, cycle, dissipate and collect.

An assemblage of clouds enabling osmosis &/ diffusion of practice between artists who share understandings of embodied listening.

"Each time we raise a foot from the ground we are walking on sky" - Yoko Ono.

The work was commissioned by Tone List, STRUT Dance and enabled by the 3 artists' self-funded independent practices, sustained over a combined total of more than 50 years.

atmospheric, integrated and responsive . . .
continually becoming the tonal, emotional, sensory, political and actual weather of the moment.
