This project occurred during global lockdown in April 2020. Four short films were made by four female artist duets, each pair working online together from international distances. The films were presented on a floating screen for Perth Festival - a free event at The Blue Room Theatre.
The film I created with Aki Iwamoto can be watched in full below.
View all four films and read more about Feminism Has No Borders.
Thanks to the ever generous and supportive Sally Richardson, Artistic Director of Steamworks Arts for providing this opportunity.
Thanks to Iain Grandage for including our films in a wonderful 2021 Perth Festival programmed entirely with West Australian artists.

Poetry by Daisy Sanders / Aki Iwamoto and program notes for Perth Festival 2021 below.
あなたが聞く 私は話す you listen I speak
I listen you speak
泳いで 話して 笑いあう 一緒に together we swim we walk we laugh
声を上げて泣き叫ぶ 雨の中 we stand wailing in the rain
風の中 in the wind
森の匂いをかぐ we smell the forest
倒れても 倒れても また探し出す we fall and fall and explore again
四つの足は地の上に four feet on the earth
二つの体 二つの声 two bodies two voices
言語たちは 水のように our language is water
そして 出会う あなたと私 and meet each other
一緒に together
