I undertook full time dance training at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. In 2009 I entered the classical ballet Advanced Diploma but left to take a break and pursue acting. I returned to complete the Bachelor of Arts (Dance) 2011-2013 majoring in contemporary dance and including aerial, acrobatics, ashtanga yoga, choreography and improvisation.

My experience of tertiary dance was enhanced by international exchange at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (USA) where I participated in undergraduate and Master of Fine Arts dance and theatre courses. I was inspired and transformed by studying Safety Release Technique with BJ Sullivan, West African dance with Robin Gee, performance repertory, art and compositional theory.

Highlights of study at WAAPA include 2 week performance improvisation workshop AMPLIFIED BEAST with Jo Pollitt and Paea Leach, presenting my own work An Invitation to Balter for 2013 student choreography season at UWA's Dolphin Theatre and creating an original graduation piece with Leigh Warren called No Time Like The Present. I was a dancer for Storm Helmore's 2011 choreography work and dance film Features of Habit (watch below).

In 2016-17 I returned to WAAPA to complete Honours via independent creative study over two years. I achieved the award of First Class for developing my own dance methodology, presenting an installation at Spectrum Project Space and writing a 15,000 word thesis about dancing as recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
